Slumberkins Release of Hartley! For Foster + Adoptive Families
I’ll never know what it’s like to grow up in a family that doesn’t look like me or share my blood.
I’ll never understand what it is like to fight specific stigmas and false identities placed on me upon realizing my story is “atypical.”
I’ll never be able to give my children via adoption and foster care complete understanding that I KNOW what they’re processing, what they have lost, or the experience they’re living.
But what I can do is empower them to own their story + give them dignity + remind them of their worthiness of love; I can provide them with meaningful books and toys (and art pieces and community!) that reflect the parts of their story we will never share.
I’m so thrilled to join my friends at Slumberkins launching their Hartley Bundle next week!
Hartley was created for families built by adoption and foster care. His story is about a heart family, created intricately.
Hartley says, “I am safe. I am loved. Even if we are apart, I’ll keep you with me, held here in my heart.” Hartley is a gift.
Slumberkins is partnering with Alliance of Moms (read more about it here!) and a portion of all Hartley Bundle proceeds will support the mission of the Alliance of Moms.
“Currently, 66% of girls in foster care are pregnant by the age of 17. This is why the mission of the Alliance of Moms is so important and why we chose to give back to this wonderful organization. With every purchase of our Hartley Bundle you’re supporting the mission to break the intergenerational cycle of babies born to teens in foster care.”
Grab a bundle for your family, whether adoptive or foster or not! You can use this sweet bundle to teach your kids that not all families are built the same, and that is okay :) Grab a bundle with the hope and promise of becoming a foster or adoptive family.
The cuddly creatures are ALL sweet + soft + snuggly. I didn't even ask my kids to pose for these...I snapped photos first thing in the morning and you can just see their love for these bundles:
