My Favorite Family Art + A Giveaway!

Adopting Sage while pregnant with Ira was perhaps the most special and sweetest season of our lives. It was absolute joy with very little heartache for us — though we know many others a part of our situation had immense heartache.

Having two babies within five months of one another was hard, but the preciousness of it was far more notable than the exhaustion of it.

During that "season," I felt like I couldn't slow down time. I felt right. I did everything I could to slow it down by documenting our days with my DSLR camera, my iphone, but also felt like I wanted art pieces to reflect our unique and cherishable family.

I had Adrianne make us little wood people, Joeliz stitched us together, and Head Over Hills 4 You draw us. I ordered a beautiful canvas of a family photo Kersten Green shot of us the fall of 2016. And then I even had my friend Jeremiah create an actual family documentary-like video of us which has been seen by over 17,000 people.

Julia from Germany drew the picture hanging on the wall, tagged me in a photo of it on Instagram, and I asked her if I could buy it! She sent it to me with a letter that made me cry...turns out, she is an adoptee! What a world we live in.

We don't own our home, but I have loved making it ours and making it reflect our love and gratitude of one another.

When we added our two daughters via foster care, I quickly sent Adrianne an email asking her if we could purchase two more little wooden people to add to our family! She sent them to us as a gift, and I about cried.

I also ordered another big canvas like the one pictured above our couch, from our photoshoot together as a family of six! It is this picture here and it hangs at the top of our stairs reflecting our family now that it has grown, for at least now.

Part of making our home cozy and warm was purchasing this beautiful sign from our favorite sign shop, Rooted and Grounded Home. I cannot tell you how long I looked for a sign I felt reflected our hearts for our dining room. When I found this one, I immediately thought this is it! This is the sign I want in our home!

Since hanging this sign, I have had countless people comment about how much they love it! Even the other day, our girls's attorney was over and she asked me where I got it.
